About Us
Who we are
We are an association
of women and men world-wide dedicated to
serving the needs of clergy serve God in any
way the Spirit leads them to serve.
Our Mission
Street Bishops has, at its core, the mission of supporting those who honestly desire and have been called to
serve.
Our Theological Baseline
- there is a supreme, unified power orchestrating the
universe;
- that this power whom most call God is an active participant
in the phenomena we know as life;
- that as an expression of Love from God, we have life full
of beauty, majesty, gifts, challenges, tragedies, joys, wonders, events,
hopes, fears, prosperity and poverty;
- that when any human communes with God on earth, which many
of us call the Holy Spirit, the Love and comfort received as a continual and
free gift overwhelms any challenge, pain, sorrow, loneliness, and trouble
resulting in an enhanced life journey;
- that each of us finds our place, our relationship, our
manner in which we are comfortable communicating and worshiping with our
Creator and that no earthly entity has the power, authority, or right to
dictate what form the relationship should take (Human Right);
- that each of us has an obligation to share our path to
others in a way that edifies Love, that enhances our interpersonal
relationships with others, and communicates the possibility of others to
enjoy the benefits of a God filled relationship (Spiritual Responsibility).
- that the Holy Bible, as revealed to man by God, and
organized into a time honored text, is a foundational element in furthering
our understanding of ourselves, those around us, and the power and
absoluteness of God.
Clearly, there are those within the Street Bishops ministry
that have relationships with God from out of which come variations in our
statements of belief. This is expected, accepted, and we seek at all times to
understand each other with a love and respect from out of which comes maturity
as spiritual leaders. As a practical matter, we seek to serve God within the
context of our individual spiritual relationships - not within the context of
that which pleases man. |
